The Deductions featuring Jim Cox and Dean Parks, James Cruse, David Jackson, Dillon O’Brien, Cary Park and whole bunch of the worlds finest session aces get together to diddle the great American songbook every Friday at the Write Off Room in Woodland Hills!

I've had plenty of "pinch me" moments since I've been part of the Deductions crew.  It's a band of the most seasoned players in town..or the world for that matter..playing whatever the hell we want.  Mostly stuff we don't know.  Consisting of, and not limited to, some of the following: Dean Parks, Jim Cox, Dave Jackson, James Cruz, Dillon O'Brien, Cary Park with occasional drop-in's by Tom Scott, Larry Goldings, Chad Wackerman, Billy Valentine, James Gadsen and Abe Laboriel and many, many other legendary players.  Every Friday at the Write Off Room in Woodland Hills, you know somethins going down!!

Echo in the Canyon

Echo in the Canyon is a film and record conceived and produced by Andrew Slater documenting the music of Laurel Canyon in the mid 60's. The songs of The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, the Momma's and Poppa's, are brought to life in a new light by Jakob Dylan as he explores a repertoire of songs with artists like Cat Power, Fiona Apple, Norah Jones, Neil Young, Beck, Eric Clapton, Josh Homme, Jade Castrinos and Regina Spektor.  The film includes interviews with David Crosby, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty, John Sebastion, Michelle Phillips and Brian Wilson to name just a very few.  The story of those times, told from the people who lived it.

For me, it's an honor to have been part of this project since it's very beginning playing the 12-string Rickenbacker guitar, a significant voice in the music of that era.  The film releases May 24 in Los Angeles and the soundtrack comes out the same day on BMG records. The film will release in NYC May 31 and nationwide in theaters in June.
